On July 28, 2018, over 200 students participated in the 2018 World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY 2018) sponsored by ReadyAI at the Jared L. Cohon University Center, a hub of the Carnegie Mellon University campus, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

“Dr.Cozmo” is one of the winning projects in WAICY 2018. The project was created by two high school students Weeam(15) and Tassneem(14) from Pennsylvania. “Dr.Cozmo” was programmed to be a surgery robot that can help with surgeries inside the human body.

“Baking Companion” is one of the winning team projects in WAICY 2018. The robot was programmed to bake whenever he knows that a person is sad.

“C.A.R.E.” is one of the winning projects in WAICY 2018. The project was created by four high school students from Pennsylvania. Cozmo – the robot – was programmed to be a nurse assistant that can help taking care of patients in the hospital.

This project video was made by students from Tsinghua High School, Beijing China. They participated in the WAICY 2018 remotely and won the Unliminted Division Award and the Multimedia Excellence Award.

The project was made by 5 local students in Pittsburgh. The average age of the team is 9 years old. In the project, Cozmo was programmed to transport energy from the west coast to the east coast.
